TASTY NEW RELATIONSHIP WITH PETER ROWLAND CATERING

Peter Rowland Catering has just been added to the Q portfolio of clients.

We’re thrilled to be working with Melbourne’s iconic ‘catering powerhouse’ that delivers innovative food, beverage and hospitality for the city’s premier venues such as the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne Museum and ACMI; the state’s major events including Spring Racing Carnival and the Grand Prix as well as private catering for Melbourne’s corporate and cultural elite.

It’s an exciting time ahead as Peter Rowland Catering launches ROWLAND by Shane Delia – a collaboration with chef Shane Delia; stages the ‘Melbourne Most Liveable Lunch’ series with six of the city’s top culinary creatives; opens a new venture at Moss Green Auction House; establishes a new venue at the soon to be open Melbourne Star and more….

We’re looking forward to sharing the Peter Rowland story and continuing to add to their culture of innovation.

Luna-Market

CREATING A NEW WINTER RITUAL

We’re getting set to help launch LUNA 1878 – a mid week night market that celebrates winter in Melbourne.

Think crackling fires, mulled wine, warming street food, crafty artisans, roving maestros and a line up cabaret style performers all cocooned within the historic sheds of the Vic Market.

Held every Wednesday night in August (7th – 28th), LUNA 1878 is something to look forward to in the depth of winter.

Check out the campaign we’re kick starting via #luna1878, updates on performers and Melbourne designer stalls at Facebook, via luna1878.com.au and Queen Victoria Market’s new look website qvm.com.au And we have other fun promotions planned when we help LUNA 1878 take to the streets! Q Strategies | Yarra Valley Chocolaterie Bush Tucker Range Launch

SWEET PRODUCT LAUNCH CELEBRATES DELICIOUS WORLD FIRST

Who knew native ingredients such as bush tomato, wattle seed, lemon myrtle and blue gum smoke oil could work so well with couverture chocolate!

Q’s just helped our sweetest client, the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery, launch a new Bush Tucker chocolate range – and it’s believed to be a world first.

Combining the art of traditional European chocolate making and Australian native, natural ingredients have inspired a truly original range that also supports the local indigenous community.

The distinct packaging for the new Valley Bush Tucker collection adapts a specially commissioned artwork by a local indigenous artist and the Wurundjeri Tribe benefit from every sale. Fifty cents from each bar sold goes toward their arts and well being program.

Guests were treated to tastings of the eight different Bush Tucker chocolates at a launch event we helped stage at the Chocolaterie with the Wurundjeri tribe elders, Yarra Valley tourism and hospitality operators and media.  Bush tomato and jindilli nuts in milk couverture chocolate is our pick!

HUGO WEAVING, ASHER KEDDIE, NAOMI WATTS & TONI COLLETTE COMING TO THE MORNINGTON PENINSULA

Well their portraits at least….. The Archibald Prize Exhibition will be arriving at the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery from June 8 for it’s only appearance in Victoria.

The annual portrait competition draws esteemed entries and attention each year, with this year’s winner – Del Kathryn Barton’s painting of Hugo Weaving – amongst 39 portraits on display in the exhibition.

Q works with the Mornington Peninsula Regional Tourism Board, helping raise profile of the region’s appealing mix of world class food and wine, premier golf courses and nature experiences all on Melbourne’s doorstep. And now a block buster art exhibition is another reason to visit.

We’ll be heading down to Peninsula for a short break to time with “The Archies.” Check out www.visitmorningtonpeninsula.org to inspire your own getaway.

CLASSICAL MUSIC MAKING IN THE MAJESTIC GRAMPIANS

The majestic beauty and historic towns of the Southern Grampians region in north west Victoria will once again be the backdrop for the annual Promenade of Sacred Music Festival.

Q is helping promote this beautiful music event that presents performances of fine traditional, contemporary, choral and instrumental music in the many historic churches and performing arts centres in Hamilton and surrounding towns from 18 – 21 April 2013.

We’re enjoying sharing the news of the many first class musicians from around Australia that are performing in the stunning program via a range of promotions and publicity in Melbourne, regional Victorian and South Australian media.

If beautiful music is of interest, check out www.promenadeofsacredmusic.com.au for ticket and accommodation packages.

FOODIE-GEMS-IN-CASTLEMAINE

FOODIE GEMS IN CASTLEMAINE

Q’s started working with “hospitality virtuoso…..” (as quoted in The Age 2013 Good Food Guide) Hayden Winch and his collection of eateries in Central Victoria.

Just as the gold rush town of Castlemaine is redefining itself as one of Victoria’s hubs of good food and contemporary art, Winch is redefining eating and drinking in the town with PUBLIC INN. It’s contemporary and chic remodel of the former “swinging arms” pub features restaurant style food with top-notch regional ingredients and local wines.

There’s also the old Castlemaine Fires Station that’s been given a Winch makeover to create rePUBLIC – a coffee and eating depot that’s already a local hot spot. Winch is rolling out a series of fun food and wine events including regular “Story Telling for Grown Ups” sessions featuring local authors matched with tasting plates and local Central Victorian wines as well as 100 mile seasonal lunch events.

And plans are afoot for a new style filled destination dining room offering weekend services only and a microbrewery.  Lots of news to share, food to enjoy and good company to keep!
